Project Process
- Just about everything you do to your home or business today requires a building permit. The way to think of it is if you are modifying or expanding a system within your property, a permit is required. If you are unsure if you need a permit, please call the Building Department at 518-885-3167.
- Determine if your proposed project meets Village zoning regulations.
- Download and fill in the Building Permit, and submit that to the village, with appropriate fees.
- If your proposal meets zoning regulations, we will issue your permit shortly.
- In the event that your building permit is denied, or that you know your proposed project will not meet Village zoning regulations, you may apply to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a variance. Please download, fill in, and submit the Zoning Board of Appeals application. Note: you may also have to attend a public hearing.
