Historic District Commission

Function

The Historic District Commission works to help safeguard the heritage of the Village by preserving districts and landmarks which reflect the Village’s history. The Commission consults with the residents on appropriate ways to preserve and maintain the historic character and integrity of their properties, and it reviews building permit applications for projects within the Village’s established historic districts.

The Commission is made up of five members, at least two of whom must reside in the historic districts. All members must be residents of the Village, and they serve without compensation.
