One of the earliest homes in the Village, it has been the residence and tavern of John Ball, son of Eliphalet Ball (founder of Ballston Spa) and renovated c. 1830's as the home of James Cook, first President of Ballston Spa Bank and a comptroller of the currency for New York State.
