Message from the Mayor

Message from the Mayor August 2022

Welcome to the Village of Ballston Spa! When people refer to our Village as "A Village of Friends," they see our rich tradition of community involvement, appealing neighborhood, vibrant small businesses, and Village pride that outshines many municipalities across New York and nationally. This rich tradition has existed since our Village was first settled in 1771.

Many people ask me why I wanted to be Mayor of Ballston Spa, and my answer is simple: "Look around at what a beautiful area this is, and then multiply that by 100 to understand how beautiful and wonderful our residents are." Service to the Village for me is service to a community that always gives back, that constantly embraces our many visitors, and that never fails to go the extra mile to make our Village more beautiful and better. Just look at our parks, especially Wiswall Park in our Central Business District, Old Iron Spring Park near Brookside Museum, and Kelley Park near our Village Pool, and you'll see active, vibrant areas that our residents help us maintain and improve continuously because of the connection they have to this Village.

Sure, we have challenges like any other community, but when you visit or walk around our "Village of Friends," you'll realize why we are able to overcome those challenges and provide one of the best small-village experiences you'll encounter. If you're planning on visiting, feel free to browse our website and social media to become more familiar with what's happening in our Village – and then come experience and enjoy the Village of Ballston Spa. You'll be glad you did and, I guarantee, you'll want to come back for another visit!
