BSBPA What You Need to Know: June 29-July 5

What You Need to Know   June 29 - July 5 2022

We have another fun week coming up in Ballston Spa! Read below to see a list of the many events happening!

Info for those living near Saratoga County Complex

Saratoga County is kicking off their “Saratoga 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution” brand and events Thursday (July 30) morning — everyone is invited. As part of this event, though, please be aware:

“[The County] will have Revolutionary War Reenactors on site to fire a simulated cannon shot using a Revolutionary War Replica Cannon. The noise this makes will be loud, so we plan on notifying neighbors ahead of time with flyers and a Reverse 911 Call so they are aware of the noise which should occur sometime between 10:30AM and 11AM.”

Ballston Spa Family Fun Day

A group of volunteers working with the Village has been working hard to bring Family Fun Day back to Ballston Spa! The event is on Sunday, August 21st from 1-6pm on Front Street!

This is a FREE event for kids — bouncy houses, crafts, makeup artists, entertainment and more! The committee is in need of volunteers to help bring this community event back to life!

Sign up to volunteer by contacting Anna Stanko at [email protected] or call Mark Blech at 518-742-6355.

Of you would like to make a cash donation, please contact Mark Blech at [email protected]

FREE Summer Lunch program for Kids

Many children who receive free lunch at school do not have this option over the Summer. Sometimes they go hungry. The members of The First Baptist Church of Ballston Spa are once again offering a Summer Lunch Program. This program provides free lunches to children over the Summer. Approximately 200 nutritious bag lunches are served Monday thru Friday during the months of July and August.

A permission form needs to be filled out and signed by a parent or guardian before a student can receive lunches. They are available on the church website or can be picked up from participating churches, and should be turned in to the First Baptist Church office by July 1.

Volunteers are needed on weekdays, 9 am – 12:15 pm to help make, pack, and distribute lunches. It’s only a few hours a day, but it makes a huge difference in these children’s lives.
