CHPE Meeting a Success

On Tuesday, July 11th, representatives of the Champlain Hudson Power Express met with Mayor Rossi, Town Supervisor Connolly, and village residents to discuss the Champlain Hudson Power Express, a buried clean energy transmission project that will pass through the Village.

At that meeting, CHPE officials explained how, based on feedback from residents and officials like the Mayor and Supervisor, a new design would be used for the project that will greatly minimize disruptions to homeowners in the Village. As a result of this change, there will no longer be a need to impact the backyards of the small number of residents whose property originally was slated to be used along the route. The project will be completely buried and construction in the village is currently anticipated to begin in the Fall.

More detailed information on the construction schedule will be provided on this website as key dates near.
